The Challenge Group, Inc., is a non-profit organization whose aim is to enhance the lives of under-served populations by providing innovative, meaningful experiences that supplement available services. Through our educational and therapeutic adventures, minds are opened, hearts are touched, worlds are enlarged, and, in some cases, lives are saved. TCGI benefits a diverse client base, and has designed specialized projects to meet the unique needs of each. The common thread throughout our programs is the fundamental belief that focused and powerful experiences, whether in the wilderness or in the classroom, positively impact a life in a way that few other things can.
The Challenge Group, Inc. is committed to improving the lives of people with HIV/AIDS. Our Rio Esperanza program offers therapeutic rafting trips for those who have this disease. The impact of the river and the outdoors, paired with our highly skilled staff, create an opportunity for emotional and spiritual rejuvenation, and deep personal insight. These often disregarded elements can be as essential as medication in living well with HIV.
Rio Desafio, The Challenge Group’s other river-based program, supports at-risk-youth mentoring projects. While it usually takes months for a teen to know and trust an adult mentor, the shared adventure of a three day rafting trip greatly accelerates this process. As a result, months of bonding time are saved, and mentoring projects can be more beneficial more quickly to youths who need guidance.
The Challenge Group is an ever-growing organization, keeping its doors open to new program ideas that will excite, engage, educate, and enhance lives.
